My husband and I were getting ready for work and watching the news. We both watched as the first plane hit the tower. We said out loud, "This can't be real. We must be watching a movie trailer." As the news started to unfold, we realized, "Oh my goodness. We are under attack!!" My brother and his family were living in New York at the time. Not knowing where they lived, we of course were concerned for their safety. We finally reached my brother and as we were on the phone, the tower started to collapse. He was watching this out his window in Brooklyn near the Verrazano Bridge and kept saying, "Oh my God, oh my God..." His wife was working in downtown Manhattan that day as a teacher. They scrambled quickly to get their children to safety and try to remain calm as our world was crumbling down around us. Our world will never be the same again. We will never forget and we will always be grateful for those that serve.
